Stewards of Weddington has launched a new petition calling for transparency, accountability, and proper oversight in how our town government operates. Click on link below. 

This includes concerns about following proper procedures, complying with applicable state statutes, and maintaining appropriate oversight.

In 2021, Town Council revised the Town Administrator role to resemble a manager position, and operations have continued in that direction.

In 2023, Weddington voters overwhelmingly rejected that model, choosing to preserve our Mayor–Council system. However, Town operations appear to continue reflecting a Council–Manager structure, with the Administrator’s role assuming expanded authority.

These changes have not been clearly communicated to the public, creating confusion and raising questions about transparency.

We are asking Town Council to address these concerns clearly and promptly.
