First of all I just wanted to say thank you for participating in this petition!

Liverpool Echo and Birkenhead News have posted articles outlining that the Council have now postponed these changes until further notice. Knowing how the Council works they will still try to push these charges through but its a step in the right direction at least. Although they didn't mention it I would like to think that this petition and the support you guys have shown was what forced their hand.

For the time being I will keep this petition active so as to collect as many signatures as possible for when the Council try again. The amount gathered so far clearly shows how much the people of Wirral completely disagree with this change and it should make them think twice before trying to sneak something like this through in the future.
