Thank you for signing the petition to Unlock Your House Mill, which launched on 2nd January to coincide with the start of the House Mill’s 250th anniversary year.
With your support, the campaign has got off to a strong start. In just over two weeks, the petition has grown to nearly 400 signatories. A local MP and a GLA representative have now written to the Charity Commission about the site. And the campaign has been covered by the local press, including the East London Advertiser and the Newham Recorder.
This early momentum matters, because it shows that people care - so thank you.
It has been encouraging to see how many people—locally and further afield—want to see the Mill open regularly as a place for arts, culture, heritage and hospitality, rather than remaining largely closed and underused.
Next step: If you’re willing, sharing the petition with one other person who cares about heritage, the arts, or public access would make a real difference at this stage.
I’ll continue to update you as the campaign develops. Thank you again for lending your voice—and for helping to unlock the House Mill for the public.
