WHY THIS MATTERS: VENEZUELA MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE GLOBAL AI ERA

Artificial Intelligence is no longer just an emerging technology. It is becoming one of the most important tools shaping education, scientific research, economic productivity, entrepreneurship, innovation, and the future of work.

Yet millions of Venezuelans face barriers accessing some of the world's leading AI platforms because of geographic restrictions.

We believe that where someone lives should not determine whether they can participate in the global development of artificial intelligence.

WHY ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE MATTERS FOR VENEZUELA
Venezuela faces significant economic, educational, technological, and infrastructure challenges. Access to artificial intelligence will not solve these problems on its own, but it can become an important tool in addressing them.

1. EDUCATION AND HUMAN CAPITAL
AI tools can help students access personalized learning, practice languages, understand complex subjects, develop technical skills, and obtain educational support beyond the limitations of traditional resources.

For a country seeking to strengthen its human capital, access to modern educational technology is an investment in future generations.

2. ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
AI gives entrepreneurs and small businesses access to capabilities that were previously expensive or difficult to obtain: market research, business planning, customer support, software development, data analysis, translation, and automation.

These capabilities can help Venezuelan entrepreneurs build businesses, compete internationally, create employment, and participate in the global digital economy.

3. SCIENCE, RESEARCH, AND INNOVATION
Researchers, university students, engineers, and independent developers can use AI to accelerate research, analyze information, explore scientific questions, write and test code, and develop new solutions.

Restricting access to these tools creates additional barriers for people who are already working with limited technological resources.

4. PRODUCTIVITY AND INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIVENESS
The World Bank and the International Labour Organization estimate that 26–38% of jobs in Latin America and the Caribbean are exposed to generative AI. Their research estimates that AI could enhance productivity in 8–14% of jobs.

Their findings also indicate that approximately 17 million jobs that could benefit from AI are held back by gaps in digital access and infrastructure.

Venezuela cannot afford to fall further behind in a global economy increasingly shaped by these technologies.

5. REDUCING THE TECHNOLOGICAL DIVIDE
According to DataReportal's Digital 2025 report, Venezuela had approximately 17.5 million internet users at the beginning of 2025, representing 61.6% of its population. Approximately 10.9 million people were still offline.

These figures illustrate the existing digital divide. Restricting access to advanced AI services adds another potential barrier for Venezuelans who already face difficulties accessing technology.

WHAT WE ARE ASKING FOR
We call on leading artificial intelligence companies, including OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, Google, and Manus, to reconsider geographic restrictions affecting Venezuelan users and explore legitimate ways to expand access to their services.

Specifically, we ask these companies to:

Review their geographic availability policies concerning Venezuela.
Explore transparent, lawful, and practical pathways for Venezuelan students, educators, researchers, developers, freelancers, and entrepreneurs to access their AI platforms.
Provide clear explanations of the restrictions affecting Venezuelan users.
Consider accessible payment and subscription alternatives where legally and commercially possible.
Ensure that Venezuelan users are not unnecessarily excluded from educational, professional, and technological opportunities.
We recognize that companies must comply with applicable laws, security requirements, and legitimate regulatory obligations. We are not asking anyone to ignore those responsibilities. We are asking for transparency, dialogue, and reasonable solutions.

THIS IS NOT ABOUT POLITICS. THIS IS ABOUT OPPORTUNITY.
This campaign is not affiliated with any political party, government, or commercial organization.

It is a citizen-led initiative representing Venezuelans who want to learn, create, innovate, develop businesses, and compete internationally.

We should not have to choose between our nationality and our ability to access the technologies shaping the future.

Artificial intelligence should be a tool for human progress, not another barrier separating countries and communities from opportunity.

Venezuela has students with ambition, developers with talent, entrepreneurs with ideas, and professionals capable of contributing to the global economy.

They deserve the opportunity to participate.

We are not asking for special treatment. We are asking for fair access.

Venezuela deserves equal opportunities in the global AI era.

🇻🇪 UNLOCK AI FOR VENEZUELA.
