Protest the University of Montana's decision to send 33 lecturers non-renewal letters last month. We must not tolerate it! The disruptions to student progress, morale and advising are unacceptable, and as a paying customer, you should say something about it.
The Irish Studies, Film Studies, Literature and the Environment and The Oval literary magazine are all in dire jeopardy. That is only to mention the programs within the English department. Those whose Majors and Minors revolve around these professors and their programs have money on the line, no time to spare, and should use their voices to speak out!
Alumni, future and current students, lovers of the arts, of education, please think about signing and sharing this petition. If you know the kind of professor Robert Stubblefield, Traolach O'Riordain, Garry Kerr, George Price, Lauren Fern, Diane Friend and Kevin McManigal are, then you are aware that their absence will significantly undermine the effectiveness and quality of education students at the University of Montana are receiving. If you want the University of Montana to remain a beacon of creativity and an institution honest in their dedication to humanities and science, to learning in general, speak up now about their decision to discard of the brilliant individuals whose blood, sweat and tears have gone into building that reputation.
