Thank you all so much for getting us to over 1,300 signatures! You are all the BEST supporters and we are so grateful!

Despite the new, more contagious, variant of COVID, the University of Memphis has still not implemented a hybrid policy. Regardless of the pandemic, students need a remote option. Whether it’s illness, disability, transportation, childcare, or a one time emergency, students should not be punished for missing class -especially when they’re willing to put in the work to catch up. They should have the opportunity to stay connected to their class if they can’t make it in person. We have the technology to help students succeed, why not use it? If you support a hybrid policy, please contact our administrators. Tell them how a hybrid policy could help you as a student! If you’re a parent or alum, share how a hybrid policy would motivate you to donate. If the lack of accessibility is preventing you from donating or continuing your education at the school, let them know. Our administration believes a hybrid option would limit the profits the school receives from meal plans and on campus housing. While most students and faculty value their health and safety over profits, we understand it is the administration’s job to do the opposite. Still, as a disabled student, I can confidently say I would take in person courses if I knew I would not be punished for my disability. I would certainly buy a meal plan if I was able to take on campus courses. Again, how would the accessible hybrid option affect your monetary relationship with the University of Memphis?
