Hello everyone, the good news about our fight to petition the University of Liberia has been listened to! Today May 6, 2020, the UL faculty senate held an important meeting and they have approved the future of the University. Believe it now that the University of Liberia will be offering online classes in June.
Important update:
1. There will be training workshops for all faculty/instructors. These workshops are intended to train the faculty of the UL to learn about the moodle online platform.
2. The University will be providing laptop computers for all faculty at a reasonably reduced price.
3. The University of Liberia will be providing computers, smartphones, and tablets for all students at the University. Not free but it will be a reasonable price for all students to afford.
4. The University is engaging Lonestar and Orange for sponsorships to offer all students free internet or give reasonable data prices to all students.
5. The University budget 11 million dollars for this good news. And they will be partnering with UNESCO and USAID.
6. The big goal of the University is to offer a degree in computer science in the academic 2020-2021.
Now it is time we communicate the good news. We will call on all instructors and faculty to get involved with this new future. There will be communication sent to all departments soon.
