Library Management meeting

After meeting with library management staff yesterday to discuss this issue further, a number of developments have been made!
Firstly, it has come to our attention that MRes students are also unable to access the Doctoral College Reading Room - despite stating 'all Postgraduate research students' had access. As a result of this, I have edited the petition to include this and will continue to campaign for all Master's students who do not have access to this room.
Library management are also happy to work with myself and Postgraduate students to improve the existing Graduate Reading Room, after agreeing its facilities were relatively scarce. This will be an ongoing project and I will continue to feedback the views of Postgraduate students to library management.
I will also be requesting in the New Year a meeting with Doctoral College staff to discuss the matter further and share the concerns of Master's students. I will raise the suggestion of a trial period to allow Master's students in the room, ensuring the Doctoral College Reading Room remains a quiet and productive study room.
In the mean time, I would ask that all Master's students continue to use the Graduate Reading Room on the 1st floor! If we are able to show a demand for facilities, given the number of Master's students, this campaign has more chance of success.
