Cde Never Maswerasei started this petition to University of Kent (Office of the Vice Chancellor)

This is a petition to University of Kent over Alex Magaisa regarding the outright lies & propaganda he is peddling about Zimbabwe and the government. He has been doing this for a decade and citizens of Zimbabwe have been greatly prejudiced.

His deceitful weekly Big Saturday Read (BSR) columns are not only unprofessional & unethical but an attack on the entire academic fratenity because of their lack of objectivity and impartiality expected from an academic.

He has been using this column to peddle falsehoods about Zimbabwe taking advantage of the column's wide readership. University of Kent students are at risk of being taught the best principles of how to be biased in their analysis of politics & interpretation of law.

All universities where Magaisa may be a visiting fellow ought to exercise extreme caution when entrusting their faculties with him. His writings prove it.

Universally, the world has failed to find peace and in extreme circumstances descending into war zones largely because of polarised politics exarcebated & fueled by the kind of education & information dished out by custodians of academia.

There is need for a complete turnaround in the way respected academics conduct their analysis and present them to the world.

The reputation of the academic fratenity is being compromised by the poor standards continuously being displayed by the likes of Magaisa & being believed by governments, strategic institutions & the general public. It would be indifferent to ignore this fundamental issue.

It is of strategic significance for universities that had trusted his perceived academic knowledge and those that awarded doctorates to reconsider their decisions.

Magaisa could be a threat to global quality education standards - ivory towers ought to exercise extreme caution.

I am petitioning the University of Kent to consider cautioning Dr Magaisa on the type of harmful content that he is propagating to hundreds of thousands if not millions of our people.

His misleading articles are affecting Zimbabwean communities negatively as the two main political parties continue to be at loggerheads partly because of his writings.
