Greetings everyone! From the #saveyerkes Team: Thanks to your support, we’ve now reached over *1000* signatures in less than a week! Having so much support has been extremely gratifying, and this is exactly what we’re looking for. Knowing that you have brought this petition and our ideas from small town Wisconsin to all corners of the globe is very motivating and humbling for us. Yet this is a marathon, not a sprint, as much as we at #saveyerkes would love to say otherwise. Our goal with this petition is to reach as many people as we possibly can, and you have already provided an amazing beginning to this journey. For that, we want to thank you. Each signature brings us closer to being able to share this with the University of Chicago and its representatives. We want to show that what Yerkes is and what the observatory does for so many truly matters and that we as students want to see it succeed and grow for future generations.
