Yes, you read that correctly. UC San Diego informed the community today that "if you graduated as part of the Class of 2020, you are NOT eligible to participate in Commencement 2021; however, there will be opportunities to celebrate the Class of 2020 at UC San Diego alumni events in the future". To propose that unplanned, "future alumni events" will be used in lieu of a previously promised in-person commencement to "celebrate the Class of 2020" is a slap in the face to the Class of 2020 and their families.
