UCL Cancelled our Student Mediation Appointment!!

Well what a surprise.
With just one and a half hours notice (when we booked the appointment over a week ago), our UCL Student Mediation Appointment has been cancelled! Classique.
We have been told that the student mediator is not the right person to talk to, despite their website saying “My role is to advise and assist UCL students with the resolution of complaints, involving staff or other students or services of UCL” …”You can also approach me for general advice in terms of how to pursue a complaint and to find out what options are available to you.” (https://www.ucl.ac.uk/student-mediator/what-is-mediation) So sorry guys and gals, we won’t be having any great resolutions today.
We have, however been told that “this should be raised at your DSSCC and potentially also in the Student Experience Committee of which the Director of Library services is also a member” (http://www.ucl.ac.uk/srs/governance-and-committees/committees/stec )
And to talk to UCLU...who don’t seem to be respecting students’ opinions much as they’ve said “We're still hearing lots of grumbles about struggling to find study space”
So yeah, we’re kinda annoyed.
Is it too much to wanna talk to someone? This is all part of the problem of anonymity and the lack of accountability within the university. We just want to help UCL to help improve student life but doesn’t seem like they want to listen to us! Because of this, we're speaking to the press in relation to the guardian interview and will continue to channel our complaints towards UCLU and the DSSCC. If this annoys you then please continue to tell your friends to sign, seeing as this petition might just be the only way we get management to notice!
