Dear Earthians,
This is a big week for our ‘Add ‘planet : Earth’ to all Addresses’ campaign! I look forward to updating you all over the next few days, and I promise not to be out of touch for so long again.
The first thing to note is that we have changed the decision-maker for our campaign. We had originally targeted the United Nations, as they are the ultimate representation for the entire Earth population. However, as we have evolved this project, we became aware of a United Nation’s specialized agency that would absolutely appreciate our mission and be able to make the changes that we are petitioning for : The Universal Postal Union (UPU)!
Have you ever heard of them? It is a super cool organization. They are the actually the second oldest international organization in the world. Have you wondered how you can send a package from your country, and it crosses borders, time zones and oceans into other countries that speak totally different languages and have different address formats and it still reaches there? Well… its the Universal Postal Union that makes it happen!
Who better to take up our cause of ‘Add ‘planet : Earth’ to all Addresses’, right?
We’re not forgetting about the U.N. and all of the G20 leaders that are traveling to India this September for the G20 Summit in Delhi. We’ll update you all about them, as well. But, on change.org, we’ve changed our ultimate decision maker to the Director General of the UPU : Mr Masahiko Metoki. We are also mailing him (though the postal service, of course!) our request to join the Earthian movement and help us ‘Add ‘planet : Earth’ to all Addresses’. He is the man for this plan!
Feel free to tweet at the decision maker, and let Mr Metoki know his letter, and this petition, are coming his way! @UPU_UN
Thank you for all the love!
Shailendra Singh
P.S. - Will tell you about these posters, and how you can get one, in the near future!
