As you may have noticed, I updated the name and description of the petition. Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the privilege of meeting with distinguished representatives from the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations, the American Kidney Fund, the National Kidney Registry, and UNOS! As I’ve continued to gain knowledge, advice, and encouragement from these interactions, I’ve realized that there is a major lack of support in policy for recipients in general. So why not try to bridge the gap and create legislation that provides financial support for ALL Organ Transplant Recipients and their Designated Caregivers!

There are currently no universal laws in place to support this unique and sensitive population of employees within our country. Check out the new updates from some interesting facts and figures and PLEASE continue to share and make our voices be heard. Let’s make a positive impact on the thousands of life-saving surgeries that are performed each year and the invaluable caregivers that support us along the way!
