First let me start by saying , my name is David Mabrey , a loving , considerate father of three biological daughters and one daughter I chose to raise starting at 6 months old . Though I have been separated from her mother for over three years now , she will always remain a child of mine . I’m originally from Georgia , I made the big move to Orlando a little over 5 years ago now . As most fathers I myself have been through the most with my child’s mother in Ga simply trying to be a father to my daughter that still remains living in Ga . From the day of her birth I was never ALLOWED to be a part of her life . The mother simply forced me out of her life , not allowing me to know , see or even so much as speak to her , from birth u til currently, now at the age of nine years old. Only a few times In her life was I allowed to see her , and as most can guess the situations that most likely brought those couple of times into play. Though at birth I was placed on child support for said daughter... though not legally allowed an type of contact . Years have came and gone now, the mother married a couple of years back at which point she contacted me out of the blue to tell me that my child no longer needed me in her life that she had a new father... the story that is way to familiar to many across our GREAT nation. Long story short , the support payments continued to build up though I was told she was dropping bc I was no longer needed , well that never happened... and apparently last August she transferred the case from Georgia to Florida . In which case they say they could t locate me and starting in January place the case as active . Without my knowledge of a case even existing I was located a week before my license were to be suspended. So as any father would do I went in to the local office , expressed my side , told the truth of what remains to be a sad situation. To no avail I was told in order to obtain my license back in good standing I would have to pay a total of 1468 dollars, and that my case is a total of almost 20k behind.. so the case was never closed.. come to find out the mother’s husband left her an at that point came back to pursue me as a person of interest again. Now as I call an try to search every outlet to be allowed to see , learn, and know my own flesh and blood , I find that the laws state that a man or woman can’t NOT be held liable for child support UNLESS paternity has been determined, and once determined by the courts then at that point the judge will establish the child support ( pricing etc) visitation and or custody . .. but when asked “Ma’am “ if I paid the 20k today that I owe would I be allowed to call and see my child .. I mean 20 thousand is a whole lot of money an I can guess most as me myself an I don’t have just laying around .. and the case workers reply was “Not if you haven’t had paternity established by the courts and the mother refuses “..I thought aloud , saying. That’s absolutely absurd. Considering the law as its stated “A man can NOT be required to pay support unless PATERNITY has been established “...  A man may be forced to provide for a child Tha he has absouno right to see what so ever , unless taking it to court , hiring a lawyer and fighting for paternity.. and at that point if he is the father he can obtain yet another lawyer , and take it to child custody/visitation court to establish his rights to see said child. As a single father you may feel helpless , dumbfounded by how they can’t see the simple facts of what they are partaking in .. u prob feel like ur child’s life is the one being affected the most ..  your absolutely correct . What the system knows but doesn’t mind hiding is the fact that the system built and in effect today for child support , assist strongly in turning good caring fathers into absent dads! It’s time we Fathers must stand for something . So to obtain my license I paid over 700 unexpected dollars , my next payment being due just a couple weeks , and being that the payment wasn’t in the system by the said date , only less then two weeks later my license are once again suspended, and now must pay a total of 1100 to have them released. Along with reinstatement fees , current child support , my other children , life etc etc etc , though it has been said over and over and over to no avail.. what good is a father behind bars for money that he honestly didn’t have . An once released its a repeat cycle as most know. Our kids futures depends on US ! The 32 percent that are forced to grow up with both parents .. I def stay at mom but u trying to filter your want into a bright. It’s clear to see there are so many flaws an holes in the system , my plan is to draw out a complete system just that is REALL for the well being of the child. There is so much more to be said , and we will approach It all head on! I hope I can encourage EVERY FATHER , Grand father, niece , uncles nephew etc to support this movement! Child Support And Fathers Rights  its time to form a unity and stand together against those who claim it’s all in the best interest of our children . We hope to have your support with great reason !
