End the U.S. Department of Education

End the U.S. Department of Education
The Issue
Dear Member of Congress,
The fight against Common Core has exposed the failures of those trying to force a federally-based one size fits all curriculum on states and local school districts. There are several laws that forbid the federal government from dictating curriculum, and yet we are seeing a rapid decline in classroom choice and education freedom.
The undersigned support President Trump’s campaign promise of ending Common Core and keeping education local.
Federal dollars have bribed and blackmailed states as manifested by the original Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA). There has also been a tremendous push of the private-public partnership agenda that has led to Crony Capitalism proliferating in toxic testing and data collection on students.
Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY) has sponsored House Bill 899 to terminate the U.S. Department of Education by December 31, 2018. The undersigned fully support this bill and request a hearing as soon as possible.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
