Supporter's opposing the Plains All America application to build another coastal pipeline. The Santa Barbara Planning Development will be the lead in this situation to deciding if Plains All America Pipeline can have a second chance to restart drilling / and replacing there 6 decrepit offshore oil platforms in the Santa Barbara Channels. The project is poised to build more new pipelines through Santa Barbara 73 miles, San Luis Obispo 37 miles and Kern County 14 miles. With the history of Plains All America Pipelines, their bad safety record of 173 incidents even before the Refugio Spill has the community angry and fearful that they will build in our backyard. The Planners name is Kathryn Lehr from Santa Barbara, she told us that we can submit a letter opposing this project to her. Her contact information is 805-568-3560 and her email address is klehr@co.santa-barbara.ca.us. Can you pass along her contact information to other environmental groups/individuals locally and in Santa Barbara County immediately to get their letters to the planner right away? Also, I would ask her to mail you the Notice of Preparation of a Draft Environmental Impact Report about this meeting for the details, that will be given to the Governors Office.
