Kaiser Permanente Psychologically abusing my mother | patient Rights Abuse
The Issue
On October 18, 2016 Moles(birth mark which was mistaken by the Dr.Kuo) were detected by my mother's gynecologist, my mother was not aware that pictures were taken by Dr.kuo until October 21, 2016. My mother was unaware that further pictures were taken by her Dermatology. During subsequent appointments the images of female genitalia were projected on full computer screen for anyone with access to her computerized medical record to view. These photos were placed in imaging tab of her medical record and were easily assessable to employees that were not involved in the treatment or monitoring of these moles and therefore had no need to view these images. The image tab makes private sensitive images available to all Kaiser Employees with access to her medical record and does not provide her with care and no recognition to her dignity.
Why I am writing this
Everyday for the past two years my mother is just suffering mentally and physically she is embarrassed to go to the hospital because every time is the same scenario employees are opening private genitalia photos in places such as : dentists, doctors, any other clinic. Kaiser is just killing my mother and all they say stuff such as "sorry we cannot do anything to help you and cannot remove the photos because we do not have the right to do so." Just because they have a policy it does not matter to them if they are mentally and physically destroying another persons life. I will not watch my mother get her life destroyed by some rich corrupt company who does not support to protect the rights of a patient.
Only option My mother has
The only option she has is a lawyer which is a crazy amount of money for a average person to have to pay for especially for just removing an image. Dr.Kuo took a picture without my mothers consent and never cared to take responsibility for what they have done. No Kaiser patient or any other other person should not have to put up with these type of violations.
