The U.S. is a HUGE country and it is growing quicker than ever and people are demanding more homes built, more businesses built, and overall more buildings built. People are also destroying U.S. native plant and animal habitats. One of the most "exotic" types of plants that is found in the U.S. (Mainly in the southeast and southwest states) are palm tree. Many people don't know about these plants being native because most are cut down quickly after being discovered out in the woods or anywhere that is native forest or land. We need to go out and end to people cutting down these trees. And there are MANY types of Plam trees that are native to the U.S. look them up on Google! How cool will it be to be walking around North Carolina or Virginia (the most northern natural habitats for many of these palms) and look in the woods and see native Palm and palmetto tree growing? It would be sweet! Unfortunately, most of the native palms in these states have been cut down and now they are very rare to find growing wild there. Thy are commenly found in South Carolina and south growing wild. We need to put protection laws or preserve the natural forest in there northern and all states that hold these plants (Palm trees).
