IT'S TIME TO CELEBRATE FREEDOM!

Whatever your plans are this year and wherever you may be on June 19th, we invite you to walk 2.5 miles with us to celebrate our newest national holiday - Juneteenth! All day, we are asking people to walk 2.5 miles then post to their social media a picture or go LIVE on Facebook or Instagram and show us your 2.5! Whether it's 10 times around a high school track, on a treadmill at the gym or on a bike ride you normally do, designate the first part to Juneteenth and post it with the hashtags so we can find it.

If you register at opalswalk.com to be a part of our virtual walk, you will receive a commemorative t-shirt and a donation of $6.19 will be made to the National Juneteenth Museum capital campaign.

Let’s be clear—Juneteenth is a national holiday. It cannot be erased, rewritten, or rescinded by executive order. It represents the triumph of freedom and the enduring pursuit of equality. In times when cultural events and expressions of freedom face challenges, our walk serves as a powerful reminder that the struggle to retain our hard-won freedoms benefits everyone. It is a moment to unite, reflect, and move forward together.

Now, more than ever, it is imperative to celebrate the legacy of freedom that Juneteenth embodies, and your participation will ensure we reach our goal of getting 1.6 million people walking to match the 1.6 million signatures we got on our petition.
