Let me just say : UPS is a great place to work...when safety is FIRST.
The reality of what happens when a driver goes down is NOT echoed in their statement.
As the wife of a UPSer for over 25+ years I have had to pick up my husband, on route, and take him to the hospital for Heat Stroke and Heat Exhaustion. He has been reprimanded and accused of not properly caring for himself when that is ALL my husband does day in and day out. He literally spends his days off, preparing for what he has to endure during the summer months.
Karla Schumman, of the Teamsters Local 104, reached out to me 6 years ago when I started this petition stating she would assist and failed to follow through.
Hopefully, future drivers and their families will see a day where heat related injuries are a thing of the past.
