On September 23rd and 24th Lina al-Hathloul (sister of imprisoned Saudi activist Loujain al-Hathloul) will be speaking at the Human Rights Council on Monday 23rd September and speaking at a side event on the 24th Sept in an effort to fight for the freedom of her sister Loujain.
Lina and her siblings have been fighting for the immediate and unconditional release of her sister who has been reportedly tortured while in prison for over one year.
Since May 2018 the Free Saudi Women Human Rights Defenders Coalition (made up of 7 NGOs including Women's March Global) has worked to increase international pressure to call for the immediate and unconditional release of jailed Saudi WHRDs and the guarantee of a safe and enabling environment for them to carry out their work.
