In the month of Oct 2019, my younger sister saw an advertisement on Facebook of some Philippines Caregiver Institute at Petaling Jaya for some 3 months course, as per the Institute they were registered with the Government of Malaysia.

My both younger sisters with my mother reached this institute on 06th Oct 2019 for enrollment where Immigration raided and arrested everyone present there. From 06th Oct till today, its been almost 100 days they are kept in the detention center.

A court hearing was announced on 18th Nov 2019. On 16th Nov 2019, 2 days before the court hearing, one of the UNHCR lady officer called and told us that UNHCR will try to reduce the punishment and asked us not to keep hopes of release orders, as Sepang court doesn’t accept UNHCR appointment card. Then I appointed a private lawyer and paid him 2000 rm. On 18th Nov 2019 court-ordered Immigration to verify the authenticity of UNHCR appointment card with UNHCR and new hearing date 09 Dec 2019 was announced. 

Since 06th Oct we’ve been calling UNHCR almost after every 2 or 3 days, dropped them emails, even went in person to seek help but all I got as a reply was “We are working on it” Finally on 05th Dec 2019, UNHCR provided verification letter to Immigration and we were optimistic for there release. On 09th Dec 2019, my mother and sisters were set free, since UNHCR never attended that hearing, therefore, court-ordered immigration to coordinate with UNHCR and release them, but to this day Immigration hasn’t contacted UNHCR. I have been begging since 09th Dec 2019 to UNHCR but they’ve been telling us that they have no access until Immigration contact them.

Its been over 3 months my mother and sisters are held inside the detention center for no reason. My Previous Lawyer who I paid 2000rm has declined me to help further, as per him, he cannot make immigration to contact UNHCR or make UNHCR go to Immigration. Therefore I had to hire another Lawyer who was astonished to find out that even after case is dismissed, my mother and sisters are still in the detention center. This new lawyer had applied once again in the session court of Sepang but Magistrate has declined our appeal. Immigration made my sister, call me on 23rd Dec and last week, asking for Passports and air tickets back to Pakistan.

Our 2nd Lawyer named “Mr. Anamali” tried to meet the Immigration Investigation officer who is assigned to this case named Mrs. Husnul Khalida but she has refused to meet our lawyer. 

As a human being, I’m losing hope now and cannot find any other way out, therefore, posting it on social media.  Please help us, anyone!
