I am a parent, grandparent, Teacher, SENCO.  The impact of knife crime and mental health is resulting in over 500 deaths of our children a year, through stabbing to death and suicide. This figure may be closer to 600.  The reasons for these deaths are complex; reduced police on the streets, increased exclusions from school, more gangs, higher levels of anxiety and fear, reduced support for children and parents in the form of CAMHS, children's centres.  This is a national emergency, and has to stop.  If this was terrorism, the Government would be calling an urgent meeting of COBRA.  However, our Prime Minister is simply stating that there is no link between reduction of police and knife crimes.  Please help share this petition, calling on urgent action from the Government.
