I have taken Mediclaim policy for Rs. 5 lacs from United India Insurance Co.. The insurance company has tied up arrangement with Canara Bank . I retired from Canara Bank in May 2010. I had been renewing the said policy from time to time for the last 7-8 years. I am suffering from CLL(Blood Cancer) and undergoing treatment in Rajiv Gandhi Cancer institute Rohini. I submitted a bill of Rs. 122887/- to Mesave (TPA) Mehrauli New Delhi on 3.3.2015 which has not been sanctioned  till date. Since the hospital is not on the panel of insurance co.,I have to first pay the amount and then claim reimbursement.  I received  a letter Dt. 21.5.2015 which states that "The company shall not be liable to make any payment under this policy in respect of any claim expenses whatsoever incurred by any insured person in connection with or in respect of genetic disorder and Stem Cell Implantation/Surgery." I explained vide my letter dt. 28.5.2015 that no Stem Cell Surgery was conducted by the hospital and I have claimed for the medicines and room rent etc. which should have been sanctioned. Meanwhile I was again admitted in Rajiv Gandhi Hospital in May 2015 for certain tests recommended by the hospital in order to find out the extent of disease for which again I submitted bill of Rs. 23880/- to Med Save (TPA) which too has not been sanctioned till date and no communication is received either from insurance co. or from Medsave (TPA) The total expenses for the treatment is 18-20 lacs as told by the hospital authorities which is exhorbitant and without reach.   I request all my colleagues in Canara Bank and retired fraternity to sign my petition and create awareness in Canara Bank Management and Employees of Canara Bank who take the policy from the insurance company blindly thinking that since the company has collaboration with Canara Bank , there won't be any problem to get the bills sanctioned. The insurance company has put me to financial crunch and mental agony . I have stopped treatment and in case I die the insurance company be held responsible for the same alongwith Canara Bank Management.
