Generally, Canada is one of the countries with the highest CO2 emissions. Based on 2017 studies between 1990 and 2017, the amount of CO2 emissions has gone up by 137.6 % and specifically, Calgary produces 17.7 tonnes of CO2 per capita. Therefore, it is no surprise that Calgary needs to help combat climate change by the reduction of the CO2 the city is known for. When the UCP and Jason Kenny intend to end the carbon tax, this will mean any company can produce as much carbon dioxide they want without the limations and restrictions of a tax. Thus, worsen the effects of climate change, which the UN claimed we only have 12 years to fix. Tackling climate change requires the assitance of every country worldwide, for this a global issue. We can not win without the input of EVERYONE! The UCP making this law official detors the progress we have made or yet to make in terms of climate change.

We need to find a way to make better use of renewable energy, and let corporations know that there will be ramifications if they continue to emit carbon. If the fact that our world is coming to an end won't change their minds, maybe the consequence of taxes will.
