Dear Fellow Petitioners,
Just FYI, I'm delighted that The Observer newspaper has today highlighted what buying Unilever products actually means on the ground in Ukraine. Catherine Bennett's excellent article points out that Unilever's taxes to the Putin regime equate to Unilever paying for "39 bullets per second" to kill Ukrainians.
Yes, it is just horrifying
Also, FYI, I did write to Catherine Bennett today to ask that she update her online article to include mention of the petition. After all, we have reached 4,537 signatures and counting (as of this morning). Your voices should be heard too. As far as I am aware, there is no other petition asking for a boycott on Unilever until its policy on funding Putin's regime is reversed.
Meantime, I am also writing today to all the major UK supermarkets' Chief Executive Officers - inc. Tesco, Morrisons, ASDA, Sainsbury and LIDL - asking them to completely halt all stocks / sales of Unilever products until this matter is resolved.
Summary
Unilever's CEO Hein Schumacher needs to know that his company effectively funding the murders of Ukrainians will not be tolerated by Unilever consumers.
So thanks again to all of you for your support. Don't forget to keep SHARING the petition. Every voice will matter. Not just to us, but to every Ukrainian.
