Child abuse can result from physical, emotional, or sexual harm. However, inaction also causes harm, such as neglect. This is widespread and can occur in any cultural, ethnic, or income group, and can result in serious injury to the child and possibly even death.

     The causes of child abuse goes on a long list of various reasons but there are ones that causes most of the cases that are reported and these are:

     • Parents' lack of understanding of children's needs and child development

     • Parents' history of domestic abuse and mental health conditions

     • Poverty and other socioeconomic disadvantages

     • Intimate partner violence

     • Substance abuse in the family

     • Parental thoughts and emotions supporting maltreatment behaviours

     And all of these affect the physical, psychological, emotional, behavioural, and social developments of the children like learning difficulties and poor academic achievement, mental health problems, and developed aggressive and violent behaviours.

    With this, we want to petition that aside from the current actions being implemented by the said organization, we also want the children to have someone they can trust on and teach them how to protect themselves from the people who'll want to take advantage of them in any way.
