The opening hearing in the trial of Munther Amira was attended by his brother and wife and by dozens of diplomats, consuls and human rights organizations. According the IFSW representative in Palestine, Wednesday’s proceedings were short. The military prosecutor read the charges. Munther spoke to the judge in a loud voice about his arrest and the illegal charges against him. He also took the opportunity to speak briefly with some diplomats and representatives human rights organizations,to raise awareness about the situation of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons. Dr. Gaby Lasky, Munther's attorney spoke with Munther about this international petition and the IFSW campaign led by social workers worldwide. Munther sends greetings to all and thanks the support and solidarity. Outside the military court, the IFSW Human Rights representative to Palestine, Raed Amira, joined Munther's sister and daughter, in a peaceful rally with dozens of friends in solidarity with Munther Amira.
