For those who don't know, Disney has special privileges in Florida. The Disney Company is based in California.  They get HUGE tax breaks in Florida since they basically govern themselves.  They have their own fire, paramedic, security, utility companies, etc.  The Florida state legislature in 1967 created the Reedy Creek Improvement District whose landowners, primarily Walt Disney World, would pay for its municipal services at a time when the nearest power and water lines were up to 15 miles away. The charter even allows the District to build its own nuclear power plant, if it wanted!

Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis is now stepping up to bring an end to this exclusive district which is located in both Orange and Osceola Counties.  Disney preaches about treating everyone equally in their "inclusive rights movement" which is failing.  Don't believe us, just look at the stock market.  Their stock has been on a steady decline.  

Disney wants to be "fair" and "inclusive".  At least, this is what they preach.  Now that they are going to be treated like every other business and citizen of Florida, they are mad.  Their special privileges would expire in 2023, if this is passed. Universal, Sea World, Lego Land, Gator Land, Fun Spot, etc. all pay taxes and do not have special districts assigned to them.  Disney should be no different than anyone else.  Governor DeSantis is hoping to bring their special district to an end.  They should be treated like every other business and citizen of Florida.  Seems like Disney's fair and inclusive woke movement is coming back to bite them.
