"I've been an animal lover for my entire life and an animal advocate since adulthood. My first trip to Tanzania in 1999 cemented that love for not only their wildlife, but for Africa itself. Something for me changed in July, 2015 with Cecil's death. It became glaringly obvious, that individually and as a community, we have to stop, take pause, and acknowledge that WE are the ones who have created environments and behaviors that put iconic species on "endangered" and "critically endangered" lists. This is our moment in time to start and make it right. We are stronger and have louder voices when standing shoulder to shoulder.
