Big news everyone – earlier this week I got an email, out of the blue, from Nestle, offering to meet with me to discuss our petition!

Naturally I jumped at the chance and I’m now getting ready to meet them (by video call) next Tuesday, with one or two of the backers of this petition joining me.

Thanks so much to everyone who’s signed this petition, standing with the farmers who risk losing out. There’s no way we’d have got this meeting if Nestle weren’t feeling the pressure of over a quarter of a million people urging them to change their mind.

You might have seen Nestle have released a statement on why they are stopping Fairtrade KitKats and working with Rainforest Alliance instead, but for me – and for farmers – it leaves too many unanswered questions. Questions around how much they’ll be paid, how they’ll be paid and the powers they’ll have on how to spend their own money.

These are the questions I’ll be asking next week.
