My response to the metropolitan police.....

Hello. Thank you for your reply. I would just like to pick up on a point you made in your email, I quote... "I note that your correspondence relates to Royal Parks Policy. As the Metropolitan Police we enforce The Royal Parks and Other Open Spaces Regulations 1997, we do not police policy." "We also provide a uniformed presence at Speakers Corner in Hyde Park each Sunday to provide a safe and comfortable environment for all park users." Now I would like to bring to your attention the reply in which I received straight from the Royal Parks. I quote... In response to the recent events at Speakers’ Corner, we would like to reaffirm that The Royal Parks has not changed its longstanding policy forbidding collective religious activity in the parks and there are no plans to do so. However, this is not an explicit regulation itself. The regulation under which the policy sits prohibits the organisation of any assembly etc without written permission. It is for the police to enforce the park regulation relating to illegal assembly. Whilst I appreciate what your are saying regards the park "policy" on praying. It is within the park regulations any form of assembly is forbidden. Please can I ask why this is not being enforced by the police officers that patrol the parks? As I was told it was down to the police to enforce the regulations, when this video and many many others clearly shows this is not happening. We the public would like to know why?
