It is becoming more and more common to see senseless animal abuse. The people that purposefully maim, disfigure and traumatize animals are not the human beings that should be accepted as normal in society. There needs to be tougher sentencing for them and mental health support to prevent the reoccurrence and protect society for the future.

A GBH sentence can be up to 5 years in jail, animal cruelty an average of 3.3 months. Some of the animal abuse cases in the last few years have been nothing less than sick! Isn't it time we did something about it?
