This time last year you were one of nearly half a million wonderful people who signed a petition asking the UK government to protect the freedom of Afghan women & girls. A year on, the vast majority of people granted resettlement are men and there is still no specific legal asylum route for Afghan women at risk. In September, the UK will have a new Prime Minister. Please, help us to show them to depth of support for a policy reset and a new ask, via the fresh petition link below.

We are asking the government to create a new asylum and resettlement pathway for Afghan women at risk, set a timeline for their resettlement and be aware of gender bias in resettlement cases to date so as to not disadvantage those already marginalised due to extreme inequalities.

The UK cannot abandon Afghan women who took up the mantle of freedom and helped rebuild their country after the international intervention that followed 9/11. Please show them again that you care and wish the government to act. We know you have petition fatigue and that there are many pressing issues in the world. Thank you, from everyone at Action for Afghanistan, for staying with us on this.
