Dear supporter,

The announcement by Business Secretary, Alok Sharma, of a review into Sunday trading legislation, widely reported in the press over the weekend, is a step up in the mounting threats to extend Sunday Trading that have been building during this lockdown period, and come on top of reports of Morrisons opening tills in at least some stores at 9.30am in breach of the law. It's urgent therefore that the campaign to oppose their extension is stepped up.

We also include a link to issue 86 of the Activist, which features a leading article by Amy Murphy, who is the President of Usdaw, the main retail workers trade union in the UK, putting the reasons why Sunday trading shouldn't be extended.

Please keep sharing the petition, so we can show the opposition to these proposals - there are other ways to ensure people, particularly key workers, get the food supplies they need rather than forcing retail workers to work longer hours on Sundays.
