Thank you everyone! 75,000+ signatures in a week is an unbelievable show of support but to make reducing sewage pollution a legal requirement, we need another favour.
The Environment Bill will go before the House of Lords for the final time next week and we need to convince as many peers as possible to support 'The Duke of Wellington prevention of sewage discharge' amendment.
You can help by sparing five minutes to e-mail a member (or several members) of the house, asking them to support the amendment. Here's what to do...
- Contact a peer, or several peers, whose surname begins with the same letter as your own from the list below. Contact details are provided.
- Ask them to support "the Duke of Wellington's Amendment 59 to Clause 79 and Amendment 60 to Clause 80, to stop raw sewage pollution of the environment."
- Mention that there is a petition supporting the amendment with 80,000+ signatures.
- Add any further details on why the issue is important to you but keep the e-mail short if possible.
- Include your name and address.
