Domestic violence will affect 1/4 women and 1/6 men in their lifetime. This leads to 2 women per week being murdered, and 30 men per year. It has the highest repeat victims than any other crime. On average, there will have been 35 assaults before the police are called.

It costs the taxpayer, on average £23 billion per year. With this petition, I propose we start a fund which will directly feed to the families affected by domestic violence. This could aid them with relocation, counselling, and medical treatments.

By increasing the support available to those who have suffered domestic violence, we can finally begin to put an end to the stigma surrounding it. 

This issue affects our whole society, not just those directly involved.
