Urgent - Ask all political parties to include interim protection in their election manifesto.

With a general election looming for the first time since the petition launched, now is the ideal time to press for some real action. Please contact each of your local candidates to ask that they include proposals for interim protection in their party manifesto. Suggested text below can be copied or adapted:

'I am writing to urge that you press for a commitment in your party manifesto to provide automatic interim protection for buildings and historic assets being considered for listing or scheduling.
There are two possible legal frameworks that could be pursued to bring such interim protection orders into effect. The first is outlined in the Draft Heritage Protection Bill, first proposed in 2008
