We feel at last we are getting some where, progress is slow, but that was obvious, we knew it would not be easy. But in the last week The Police and Crime Commissioner for North Yorkshire Julia Mulligan agreed to a meeting after tweeting at us and Sarah Champion has sent the attached tweet. Yes the IPCC has to be held to account but also we need a change in the police complaints system so it has civilian oversight. You could still have the same system where the police investigate, but if they refuse to or do not do this following procedure or with failings there is a independent board as suggested that the public can go to. We are totally open to suggestions and feel the first meeting with Julia is one small step. We have asked Sarah and the IPCC for a meeting I will keep you updated with their response if any.
