Today I am meeting RtHon Amanda Milling MP

I will be sharing concerns about the unfair disqualification regime and the detrimental impact this is having and children, caregivers and children's social care. Please share and support, signatures make the difference.
"Previously in situations where it was likely that we would refuse to register a manager (or refuse a registration), the inspector would inform the applicant of the likely outcome. This gave the applicant time to withdraw their application, which they are well within their rights to do and Ofsted have to accept the withdrawal. However, in a small number of circumstances, we come across people who we do not believe should be operating within social care and want to be able to ‘refuse’ them without giving them opportunity to withdraw. By not giving immediate feedback to anyone, this allows parity". Ofsted
Mrs. E has been a registered Ofsted childminder for over 10 years- consistently rated good- and is registered with CQC. She has also cared for a disabled young person with challenging behaviour and been praised by the placing authority for the positive outcomes they achieved. She has experience working in children’s homes. She applied to be a Registered Manager for a children’s home and Ofsted indicated that they would refuse her registration. She asked to withdraw her application and was informed that they would not accept it and proceeded to formally refuse her. As a consequence, she will be disqualified from continuing as a childminder, losing her livelihood as a childminder, future prospects of working with children, and her reputation. There was no information or evidence provided by Ofsted that Mrs. E presented a risk to children. Her complaint was rejected due to being out of the Ofsted timescales and she was denied information under the Freedom of Information Act.
