Children who have been traumatised by neglect and abuse need to be parented in a system that supports caregiving and understands that recovery takes place in healthy relationships. When relationships are ruptured harm is caused and recovery is impeded. When a caregiver is disqualified from caring for children they might have been looking after for months and even years they are removed without notice. In the words of one young person who lost a significant caregiver overnight.... "They have got too much power."
Of over 400 views of this petition 75 of you have signed THANK YOU your support is much appreciated and much needed to help policy makers understand that what works best in residential care is healthy relationships with caregivers. Taking these away without good reason is as irresponsible as it is unjust.
