We are SO CLOSE to making Wales the first country in the world to make deliberate political deception a crime. But the government has tabled an amendment which would scupper the Bill.

Time is running out, and yet the need for this Bill is greater than ever.

The most recent polling by Ipsos showed less than 1 in 10 of the British public say they trust politicians to tell the truth - a record low.

On 2nd July Members of the Senedd will get the chance to vote on legislation rebuild voters’ trust in politics as well as to ensure that there is a legal remedy to prevent fraudulent statements.

We need as many Senedd members as possible to vote to End the Lies - and the evidence shows that even a few constituents writing to their Senedd member can convince them to vote.

This Bill has cross-party support. Our polling with Opinium shows it is supported by 72% of the public. And it has been scrutinised by top lawyers. There is no better way to restore trust in our politics.  

Please write to your MS and tell them you want to see the Senedd lead the way in restoring trust to politics: ask them to support Section 46 of the Elections and Elected Bodies (Wales) Bill and to vote against Amendment 6.
