At the close of business today, Boris Johnson is set to suspend Parliament for five weeks. This is an outrage and undermines the very idea of democracy. 

Thanks to everyone signing petitions and mobilising in huge numbers, MPs will be holding a debate following all the public outcry on this decision. In the last few weeks, people all across Britain have come together to urge Boris Johnson to not shut down Parliament. This is real people power in action - and it’s so important that we have our voices heard on this. 

Over 319,000 people have now signed this petition and we need to put that on the record.

Please will you urgently contact your MP, asking them to attend the Westminster Hall debate at 4.30pm today? Let them know that you’ve signed the petition to #StopTheCoup and add your reasons for why you want them to attend!
