Compulsory mental health help for care home workers in the UK

Compulsory mental health help for care home workers in the UK
The Issue
There are 1.5 million care workers in the UK alone, and collectively they make up one of Britain's biggest work forces. They deal with physical and emotional trauma nearly every shift. They take care of society's most vulnerable people and deal with death's as a common part of the job.
Over 70% of them have poor mental health because of their job. These problems can include emotional stress, depressive symptoms and in some cases clinical depression.
Care home workers deserve more support and we want to give them that support.
We want to make it so care home workers have to have speak to a mental health specialist once every three months. If they need the help or not, having that fall back option is something that should be considered.
