Dear Supporter 

We are sorry to have to report that we  have received reports this week of Zimbabweans being taken when reporting to sign in with the Home Office  and detained.

They have been advised that the deportation flight they will be booked on will be departing on 2nd of March.

We are sending this update to you by way of a warning as it is likely in the next few days that lots more people will be detained.

We advise that if you think you or a family member or friend might be at risk of removal, that you don't wait until you are detained to get legal representation as the turn around period can be very fast. Also for various reasons, once detained people have had difficulties in securing and communicating with lawyers due to various factors including covid measures, computer rooms being closed or with restricted access and issues with phone signals to name some.

So if you have a legal representative, do get in touch with them now and if you don't we can make recommendations and give advice.

So feel free to contact any of the organisations that are co-signatories to this petition.
