my mother crystal maciver is being kicked out of the country after being here for 29 years. my mother now 44 years old first came to the uk on a short-term visa (my mother never knew she was on a short term visa) when she was 15 her mother is scottish and her father is american my mother was born in boston massachusetts but has now lived in scotland for 29 years my mother is more scottish than american having lived her life in scotland for almost twice as long as the states. my mother has paid taxes since she first came here 29 years ago and has been paying into a state pension for 28 years since she turned 16. my mother has 3 children my self my sister and my brother aged 26 , 25 , and 19 years old we are all tax payers and all have jobs contributing tax to the country pot.my sister has had my nephew my mothers grandchild my mother is going to miss him growing up as she is being removed from the country.

 my mother recently applied for her UKM in order to become a british national but this was denied due to a technicality - ( the character of my mother was questioned due to the fact when she was 16 she never applied to become a uk national) my mother never knew she had to apply as her mother (my grandmother) dealt with everything when she first moved to the country as she had divorced my papa and had returned to her native country with her daughter in tow my grandmother passed in 1998 and my mother became aware she was not legal in this country when she came back from her holiday from dominican republic.

my mother applied for a first time in 2014 and was made aware they never had enough information on my grandmother so my mother gathered as much information as possible and reapplied and was given notice to quit the country by the end of june 2015 my mother is fighting this as much as possible but there seems like no option but for my mother to appeal in the states where she has no home and her family will be back here in scotland missing her like mad.

my mother babysits my nephew for my sister so she can work in a care home my sister may now have to quit her job due to a lack of child care the government is forcing our family into difficult circumstances.my mother is also married to a scottish man and has been for 5 years she was also formerly married to my father when she was 17 this broke up by the time she was 21 my mother raised me and my sister as a single mother and done an excellent job. my mother has a scottish mum and has contributed to this wee country she should be a uk citizen so i ask that people please sign this petition to help my mum the grandmother and mother of three to remain in the country she loves and stay with her family. 

i have wrote to my local MP and i am trying but i feel powerless to help my mother who has loved and supported me all my life if people could please take 4 minutes of there life to help i would really apprectiate that.
