We’ve been quiet recently, but we’ve been busy behind the scenes…
Today we’re sharing two serious illness cases linked to people entering the water in Windermere last summer. These stories are difficult to read, but they raise important questions about whether the current system used to assess water safety on the lake is working.
Many people swim in Windermere without problems and we strongly believe connecting with nature is important for wellbeing. But these stories cannot be ignored.
In our latest blog we share what happened, explore why the current bathing water classification system can fail to reflect real conditions on the lake, and outline the changes we believe must be introduced before this year’s bathing season.
Working with Tim Farron, we are now taking this issue directly to government.
