Thanks for signing - now respond to the CSA's Big Social Care Review

I am Jo, mum to Darcie who is autistic, and earlier this year you, along with 8,163 other people signed my petition, calling on the Government to stop cutting disabled people’s care during this pandemic.
I told you about how a lack of social care had a profound impact on my six-year-old daughter Darcie’s wellbeing and my mental health. People signing the petition helped and we’ve had some success and thankfully things have got better. Darcie was able to return to school and we got some of the care back we needed, though not all of it. The summer holidays were harder than normal as we weren’t able to get any respite care but things are better than they were when we had no care at all.
Many of you who signed the petition will understand that the pandemic only made things worse for those of us relying on care. Too many people have been struggling for years, with unpaid family carers left to pick up the pieces. We know that the social care system is broken and in urgent need of long-term funding and reform.
I’ve shared my story, and I’d be so grateful if you could now share yours. Have you needed care during the pandemic? The Care and Support Alliance (CSA), which represents over 70 of the country’s leading charities, is collecting experiences through a survey, so that they can tell the Government what it’s been like for people during the pandemic.

Whether you are a disabled adult of working age, a carer or an older person, the CSA wants to hear from you. The CSA wants to tell the Government what it’s been like to rely on care during these incredibly difficult times. The Prime Minister has promised to reform our social care system and now is the time to do it. The survey closes on Friday 11 December.
