Dear Supporters, I wanted to give you an update on the campaign. On Tuesday 25th October I spoke at a meeting in the House of Commons, hosted by Stella Creasy MP. I spoke alongside Sally Becker (founder of charity Road to Peace); Vanessa Altin (author of The Pomegranate Tree); Edward Watts (producer director of Channel 4's Escape From ISIS) and Christina Lamb (Chief Foreign Correspondent for the Sunday Times) MPs and Peers attended the meeting in which I and the other speakers had the chance to remind everyone of the horrors that Yazidi women and girls are still facing and what support the British Government has so far offered - which is not much. It was a productive meeting in which everyone discussed next steps for how we can try to pressure the government to offer more of its promised support. By the end of the year (?) I plan on taking my petition into Parliament to show how many supporters are behind this campaign and want to see the UK government help these women and girls in such desperate need of safety and medical attention. 3000 girls are still being held captive and 2000 are still stuck in camps waiting for help. Thank you for your support and please continue to pressure the government into taking action.
